✈️ Connectivity (Flights & Transfers)

• Ecuador has two main international hubs: Quito (UIO) and Guayaquil (GYE).

• For Galápagos, all flights operate to/from Baltra (GPS) or San Cristóbal (SCY).

• Arrive at least 1 day before any Amazon or Galápagos program to avoid missed connections.

• Internal flights (UIO/GYE → Galápagos) often sell out early — book in advance.

• Airport transfers can be long in Quito; choose hotels near the airport for early flights.

• Expect luggage checks for biosecurity before entering Galápagos.

💵 Cash

• Ecuador uses USD.

• ATMs: plenty on mainland, limited in Galápagos.

• Carry small bills for taxis, water taxis, tips, and local shops.

• Park fees (TCT & National Park) are often cash-based unless included in your package.

🎒 Packing Essentials

• Light clothing + swimwear + warm layer for highlands.

• Reef-safe sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.

• Dry bag, reusable water bottle, power bank.

• Comfortable walking shoes or hiking sandals.

• Passport, travel insurance, and copies of documents.

• Optional: personal snorkel mask, waterproof phone case.
