Our Story

We started out as guides—I (Caro) began as a guide in scuba diving back in 2012, and since 2017 we’ve both worked as naturalist guides together. Over the years, we’ve collaborated with all kinds of tour operators, from land-based trips to live-aboard cruises. We’ve seen the islands from every angle: guiding snorkelers and hikers, helping with hotel logistics, coordinating transport, and stepping in to support crews when needed. Galápagos isn’t just where we work — it’s where we live, where we’ve grown, and where we’re raising our daughter, Isla. Little by little, something started to grow. Guests began coming back—not just to visit the islands again, but to ask us to plan everything this time. They didn’t just want us to just guide their trip; they trusted us to design the whole experience. And we love doing it. ​ We realized that building trips from scratch, listening to people’s dreams, and turning them into real, grounded adventures was our thing. When our daughter Isla was on the way, the name came naturally. It felt like a part of her was already in this project. And that’s how “Isla Expedition” came to life, born alongside our daughter in 2024. Today, Isla Expedition is more than a tourism business. It’s a family project rooted in years of guiding, endless conversations with travelers, and a deep bond with the Galapagos Islands. Every expedition is handcrafted. Every traveler matters. Whether it’s surfing, freediving, hiking volcanoes, or camping under the stars — we want each journey to feel alive, real, and connected to the wild beauty of the islands… and maybe, to something inside yourself, too.
